Fall 2010 Newsletter

Thanks to Dominic Fredo and his staff the eighth edition of The Honors Scholar is online! This issue features an interview with Ms. Ann Parker, the Honors Assistant Director; information on fundraising activities, an interview with honors faculty member, Iraj Omidvar, an article by the International Mentoring Chair, Duong Ho, a cartoon by Sage Kelly,an update from our Social Director Lauren Tyus, and pictures and an article concerning the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference.

Fall 2009 Newsletter

Thanks to Zazu Payne and his staff the seventh editioan of The Honors Scholar is online! This issue has highlights from the Marietta Square Scarerow Contest (We won for our SPSU scarecrow), the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference and the Susan G. Komen Fundraiser. It also contains articles on the new registration procedures and the new buildings being erected. Finally we have a piece of fiction by Sean Fine. I think he is going need another installation in the next edition so we know what happens next...

Spring 2009 Newsletter

The second issue of the sixith edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. This issue has highlights from the Open House held to recruit new students and from the end-of-the-year party. It also contains the Director's Corner, the parking raffle results, and Tipp Collier's opinion piece on Star Trek not being for Geeks anymore...

The first issue of the sixth edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. This issue has highlights from the Art Appreciation "Halloween Show" and an interview with Mark Vickrey.

Spring 2008 Newsletter

The second issue of the fifth edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. Tipp Callier focused this issue on the graduating seniors, the freshman Open House, and SPSU's first Homecoming. There's also an interview with Al Churella, our latest Honors teacher of the year!

Fall 2007 Newsletter

The first issue of the fifth edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. Our new editor, Tipp Callier, has created a new look for the newsletter. This issue contains highlights and pictures from the Halloween Party, an interview with Honors teacher of the year, Ann Parker, as well as an editorial from Tipp among other items. Enjoy!

Spring 2007 Newsletter

The second issue of the fourth edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. It contains highlights and pictures from Ann Parker's Honors Composition II class visit to MUST Ministries, from the Honors Poster Session of final projects, and from the Honors Graduation Ceremony. It also contains an editorial from Nate Griffith concerning the Honors Program and keeping the "doors" to the program open.

Fall 2006 Newsletter

The first issue of the fourth edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. It contains highlights and pictures from the camping trip, the National Collegiate Honors Council Conference, and the Halloween Party. We have our first creative piece in this newsletter as well: David Hampe's sestina "Forest Morning."

Spring 2006 Newsletter

The second issue of third edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. It contains highlights from the Honors Open House, and Milli's graduation. It also contains an interview with the first Honors faculty member to win the Honors Teaching Award created by the SHC: Mr Richard Hahn.

The first issue of the third edition of The Honors Scholar is available for viewing. It contains highlights from the Halloween Party, the Tritt Elementary Student Visit, and The St. Louis NCHC Trip.
