The Budget Office identifies the levels of institutional
resources relative to current funds and provides the framework for defining University priorities.
This office is responsible for directing and monitoring the allocation of resources to individual
units as approved by the President's Cabinet. It insures that expenditures are properly requested
according to state guidelines, in compliance with internal policies and procedures, and within
approved budget levels. Further, it insures that all contract and grant activities fit the
University's defined mission, that SPSU's contractual obligations are met, and that the receipt of
revenue and expenditure of funds are appropriate and timely, relative to the requirements of the
contract or grant. Finally, the Budget Office insures that all
University travel activities are properly approved and administered.
